The End of the Autumnal Equinox

Today marks the end of my favourite season so I thought I’d write a little post to celebrate what I love about it so much!

Firstly are Pumpkin Spiced Lattes! Although not my absolute favourite drink, for me, they mark the arrival of autumn and it’s become something of a tradition for me to purchase one on the first day of Autumn. Unfortunately, as Starbucks have already released their Christmas menu I won’t be able to say farewell to autumn with one today but it’s safe to say I’m already excited for their arrival again next year! Pumpkin spiced lattes must, naturally, be accompanied by Cinamon buns although I must admit I do eat them all year round and whenever possible (I miss when I was at University in London and I travelled home a lot and made sure to purchase at least one from Westfields for every journey home).

Next of course is what happens to nature throughout these months, most importantly the leaves. And yes it’s as simple as that. I am a nature fairy through and through and nothing makes me smile more than long, slightly chilly walks through crisp, crunchy leaves in October. And after these walks you simply must spend the evening cuddling up in an assortment of blankets with a hot chocolate topped with cream & marshmallows – this year I didn’t have as many of these as I’d like so I’m going to pop it on my goals for 2018!

Now for the special nights throughout autumn – Halloween & Bonfire Night. Halloween for me is not a fantastic night but there’s something about the build-up to it that I love. The fact that there’s a sense of universal festivity and the smell of pumpkins wherever you go! Bonfire Night, however, is my absolute favourite night of the year and I was so pleased that I got to see the most amazing fireworks this year. I went out with Katie and we got hot dogs and toasted marshmallows, wrapped up in bobble hats, jumpers and boots and spend a solid 40 minutes watching the bright lights shoot across the sky.

And lastly, on the note of Halloween is Hocus Pocus. I’m ashamed to admit I’d never seen the film prior to this year but I fell in love completely and can’t wait to make it a yearly tradition! What do you love about autumn? Is it also your favourite season?

  1. Yes to autumn especially for how the season just takes a turn suddenly from bright sunny days to light breezes. Loved this post, especially how passionate you seem about the things you love in the season ❤
